In memory of 6th June 1944
The landing on 6th June 1944

Carentan was the theatre of some of the first battles involving the American 101st Airborne Division, who landed nearby: landing in Utah Beach (12 km ) and airdrops in Ste Mère Eglise ( 15km) and Carentan.
Many sites and places of interest deal with this decisive episode of the Second World War, giving you a chance to “relive” the terrible hours of the liberation.

Every year, Carentan and many associations recreate some moments of the D-Day to commemorate those who died in the war.
